To fly or not to fly.....That is the question

Been looking around in the Uni website and I accidentally found this website about The University Flying Club Inc. which offers pilot training for Student Private Licence. Since the whole licence thingie may cost me like AU$4000, I was tempted yet kind of overwhelmed by the pricey tag.

However, what draws me to it is the Scholarship they offered to undergrad, total beginners which amounted to AU$7000, supporting the recipient till the Private Pilot's Licence. To obtain that scholarship, I'm only required to fill in a form and go for a 30 minutes trial flight with a AU$99 payment upfront. Hmm.....is there a catch there?

The problem is using AU$99 just to fly 30 minutes with little chance of obtaining the scholarship plus the problem of getting a transportation to the trial place (an airport about half an hour away from where I live). But then again, it's of course a lot closer than back in KL where the airport is miles away from home. Hmm...... man......do I smell a good opportunity or not?

Decision.....decision.....although I think my parents are going to lecture me if I ask them. I bet they'll say a lot of things about plane crashing more than money wasting etc.....haha. Then again, I really wanna learn how to pilot a plane.....will it be only a dream? Accessible only to rich people who need the licence rather than average people like me who only can fly if my shallow pocket permits?

Have $Money$, Will Travel

Well, Easter Break is here and I was on yet another road trip, this time down south all the way towards Albany. Not to mention, driving 5-6 hours down there by myself since all of my friends that I went with this time don't have driving license. We went three places; Manjimup for forest horse riding, Walpole for Treetop Walk and Albany for a whole lot of stuff. Whale world, Blowholes, Wind Farm, Natural Bridge and The Gap are all like a breathtaking package offerred in Albany. Looking at the real thing up-close is really different from reading about them from the book.

Top: Treetop walk Bridge that sways as you walk on it.
Bottom: The large blue whale skeleton. Reminds me of Jurassic Park.

The big saw they used to cut the whale's head off....scary...

Really glad that I work out some time and money to travel as I may not be able to have a good chance to see all these when I leave Australia next time. Must admit that it was a very good way to relieve all the exams and lab reports stress for a while. But, now must come back to reality.....still my bed looks so comfy and nice. A nap won't hurt much, wouldn't it? Zzzzz........
