Mom unexpectedly called (well, her calls have never been expected) at 10:30pm last night asking me to buy some corn to eat (insisting that they're good for me for half an hour) and then gave me a simple recipe for chicken rice. Called again half an hour later to tell me not too put my corn with my bread or they'll go all soggy. And called me again 10 minutes thereafter to tell me to cut the chicken (for the chicken rice) down to the bone so that it'll be cooked properly. Plus, she mentioned that my dad asked if my housemate found any job yet...
And I thought most parents call to ask how their children are, if they have enough money, if everything is going well. But my parents called to tell me to eat corn... and then asked about my housemates... hmmm... such amusingly interesting parents I have.... hahaha
Wait a minute... Is my mom trying to tell me that I'm not calling home enough? Well, I do only call home like less than ten times a year. Or is it because I forgot to call home to wish her Happy Birthday? But I didn't do that the last couple of years either although I never fail to send in Birthday cards... (my mom said she even forgot about her birthday when I asked her about it anyway... but... hmm...)
Just a moment ago my Bro called instead... I almost wanted to say to him:
"I know I know.... eat corn right? OK OK." Hahaha.... but he just wanna have a chat about games (per usual). Funny having four calls from home in two days about the most random stuff.
Anyway, Monday blues with my ukelele and putting down a bag of frozen corn in my shopping list for this week. Oh, and chicken too.
